ERCOT's August 2026 interconnection report lists 1,810 proposed energy projects in 194 Texas counties, about 438,262 MW in all. Comparing ERCOT's July and August 2026 battery storage reports, 15 battery-related projects are new and 24 are no longer listed.
By type: 616 solar, 158 wind, 889 battery storage, 137 gas, and 10 other. By stage: 1,168 are still in study, 482 have a signed interconnection agreement, 23 are under construction, and 137 are energized or approved to connect.
15 new battery-related projects, about 2,763 MW, appeared in August 2026. 24, about 3,760 MW, are no longer in any of ERCOT's August 2026 reports; ERCOT's reports do not say why a project leaves the list. This comparison covers battery projects and the solar, wind, or gas projects paired with them.
